Seasonal rental of the Château
Article 1 – Purpose and scope
These General Terms and Conditions of Sale (GTC) apply to any reservation of a stay in our château made by the client (hereinafter referred to as “the LESSEE”) with the owner (hereinafter referred to as “the LESSOR”).
Any reservation implies unreserved acceptance of these GTC, which take precedence over any other document.
Article 2 – Reservation and conclusion of contract
2.1 Booking process
The reservation is considered firm and definitive after :
- Receipt by the LESSOR, within 7 days of sending the contract by email :
- A copy of the contract initialled, dated and signed with the words “read and approved”.
- These initialled General Terms and Conditions
- Payment of the deposit of 30% of the total amount
- Provision of a holiday insurance certificate
- Receipt, at the latest 21 days before the beginning of the stay :
- Payment of the balance (70% of the total amount)
- Payment of the security deposit
2.2 Capacity
The number of people occupying the château may not exceed the capacity indicated in the rental agreement. Any overrun may result in either a price increase or the cancellation of the agreement.
Article 3 – Rates and payment
3.1 Prices
The total price of the stay includes :
- The rental of the château for the agreed period
- Utilities (water, electricity, heating, Internet access and television)
- Bed, bath and table linen
- Final cleaning (provided that the accommodation is not left in a state of excessive disorder or dirt)
- Intermediate cleaning for stays of 5 nights or more (optional on LESSOR’s request)
3.2 Tourist tax
The tourist tax will be invoiced in addition to the price of the reservation to be paid to the local authorities by the LESSOR.
3.3 Payment terms
- Deposit: 30% of total amount, to be paid by bank transfer within 7 days of contract dispatch
- Balance: 70% of the total amount, to be paid by bank transfer no later than 21 days before the start of your stay.
- Security deposit: amount indicated in the contract, to be paid by bank transfer no later than 21 days before the start of the stay
Article 4 – Security deposit
The security deposit is intended to cover any damage and/or deterioration caused to the premises, furniture and equipment.
The security deposit will be returned to the LESSEE within a maximum period of 14 days after the end of the stay, minus any damage observed.
If the cost of the damage exceeds the amount of the security deposit, the LESSEE undertakes to pay the balance within 15 days of notification by the LESSOR.
Article 5 – On-Demand Services
5.1 Services offered
The LESSOR offers optional services available on request and subject to availability, including in particular:
- Catering & Wellness: in-home chef, tailor-made massages
- Housekeeping service: pre-arrival shopping, fridge stocking
- Maintenance & Comfort: extra cleaning, change of linen during stay
- Activities & Leisure: tennis lessons, sports coaching
- Personalized support: guide for walks and cultural outings
5.2 Service Booking Conditions
- All services must be requested before the stay and will be invoiced as a supplement
- Requests must be submitted to the LESSOR at least 21 days before the start of the stay.
- Services will be confirmed according to the availability of service providers.
- The LESSOR cannot be held responsible in the event of unavailability of a requested service.
Article 6 – Cancellation and modification
6.1 Cancellation by the lessee
In case of cancellation by the LESSEE :
- More than 60 days before the start of the stay: 70% of the deposit paid will be refunded
- Between 60 and 30 days before the start of the stay: the entire deposit will be retained
- Less than 30 days before the start of the stay: no refund, the entire stay remains due
All cancellations must be notified by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt.
6.2 Cancellation by the lessor
In case of cancellation by the LESSOR :
- Full refund of amounts paid
6.3 Change of stay
Any modification to the stay (dates, number of people, etc.) is subject to the prior agreement of the LESSOR and may result in a revision of the price.
Article 7 – Lessee’s obligations
The LESSEE undertakes to :
- Use the premises peacefully and in accordance with their intended purpose
- Respect the neighborhood and avoid any nocturnal disturbances
- Return the premises in the condition in which they were found
- Immediately notify the LESSOR of any damage or deterioration
- Insure the rental property for the duration of your stay (holiday insurance)
Article 8 – Liability and insurance
8.1 Lessor’s liability
The LESSOR cannot be held liable for :
- Theft, loss or damage suffered by the LESSOR during the stay
- Equipment malfunctions beyond its control
- Temporary interruptions to water, electricity and internet supplies, etc.
8.2 Lessee’s insurance
The LESSEE must be insured against rental risks (fire, water damage, etc.) and provide a holiday insurance certificate before the beginning of the stay.
Article 9 – Inventory and Condition Report
A condition report and an inventory of the furniture will be jointly conducted upon the LESSEE’s arrival and departure.
Any complaint concerning the inventory and the condition of the premises must be made within 24 hours of arrival. After this period, the rented property will be considered free of damage on the LESSEE’s arrival.
Article 10 – Applicable law and jurisdiction
These terms and conditions are governed by French law.
In the event of a dispute, the parties will endeavor to find an amicable solution. Failing this, the competent court will be that of Tours.
Article 11 – Protection of personal data
Personal data collected as part of the booking process is processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (RGPD).
The LESSEE has the right to access, rectify, oppose and delete its personal data, which it may exercise by contacting the LESSOR.
